We are one of the country's most active state Jersey clubs. We gather for meetings in the winter and summer and host the Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale with the New England Jersey Breeders Association in the spring.
We also coordinate activities with Jersey breeders from other New England states. Several of our members also belong to the New England Jersey Breeders Association.
The Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale
For 77 years, the Vermont Jersey Breeders Association sponsored a state sale in the fall. In 2014, the Vermont and New England Jersey associations combined their spring and fall sale efforts into the Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale. The event is typically held in the spring.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sale was not held during 2020. In 2019, the Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale was held on April 27 at Dusty Creek Farm, owned by Gerald and Diane Colvin of Wallingford, VT.
The 156 lots sold for an average of $928.65. Twenty-nine buyers from eight states made purchases.
